It was a Japanese cartoon show originally produced by Toei Animation as well. The scenes were edited or cut due to the scenes containing violence, smoking, or inappropriate moments that not suitable for young viewers. The show was to compete with the English-dubbed Pokémon episodes by 4Kids Entertaiment, and Saban also made an edited version with all the characters voiced in English. The show was re-aired on Toon Disney, Jetix, ABC Family and Nicktoons in the US, and it was also shown in the UK on Fox Kids UK and even Children's ITV.
